Design of British Shengxiao Lunar Series Silver Coins
Each of the 12 coins in the Shengxiao Collection has on the reverse a unique design representing an animal in the Chinese lunar calendar. Each of the designs are rendered by British-born Chinese artist Wuon-Gaen Ho who was commissioned by the Royal Mint to create a dynamic collection of motifs that reflect the traditions of both Britain and China.
The obverse side of the coins feature the right-facing bust of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by the Royal Mints official engravers. The 2014 and 2015 editions are the work of Ian Rank-Broadley and the 2016 version to date were realized by Jody Clark.
